Under eave lights

What Are Under Eave Lights?

Under eave lights, often called soffit lights, are LED lights mounted beneath the overhang of your roof, where the soffit meets the fascia. Mounted there, they outline the roofline at night while staying tucked out of sight during the day.

Some people use “soffit lights” to mean recessed can lights cut into the soffit. Our system is different: a continuous track of individually controllable RGBW lights that follows the entire roofline, peaks included, with no fixtures cut into your soffit.

How the track mounts

The aluminum track fastens to the soffit or the fascia board, using fasteners matched to the material, whether that’s wood, vinyl or aluminum, and set into solid backing. Nothing is screwed through shingles or roof panels, so your roof and its warranty are left alone.

Color-matched to your trim

The track is powder-coated aluminum in four colors: matte black, white, oyster white and brown. We pick the one that matches your soffit and fascia so the track reads as trim in daylight.

Clean wiring

The light strands run inside the track, and each zone connects back to a single control box mounted near an exterior outlet. Where a lead has to run along the soffit or fascia, a matching aluminum channel hides it.

Under eave LED track vs. recessed soffit lights

  • Recessed soffit lights wash the wall below in white light, and that’s all they do.
  • Under eave LED track outlines the whole roofline in any color, including a true warm white, and changes with the season from your phone.

The lighting system

What Goes on Your Roofline

Every install uses the same professional-grade RGBW system, built for year-round outdoor use.

Full color plus true warm white

Every light is RGBW: red, green and blue for any color, plus a dedicated warm-white LED for a real 2800K glow instead of a tinted mix.

Hidden by day

A slim aluminum track tucked under the eave, powder-coated to match your trim. Most people never notice it until the lights come on.

Control it from your phone

A free app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with scenes, schedules and timers. Four independent zones let each side of the house do its own thing.

Perfect peaks

Pre-built peak pieces matched to your roof pitch put a light dead center at every apex, so both sides of each gable mirror each other.

Built for Toledo winters

LEDs sealed in UV-stabilized polyurethane and factory-sealed waterproof connectors. No splices on your roof for water to find.

Safe, low-voltage power

Plugs into an exterior outlet. From the control box out, everything runs on 24V DC, with a UL-certified power supply and built-in surge protection.

Questions

Under Eave & Soffit Lights FAQ

What’s the difference between under eave lights and soffit lights?

People use both names for lights mounted beneath the roof overhang. Some “soffit lights” are recessed cans cut into the soffit. Our system is a continuous track of full-color LED lights that follows the whole roofline, peaks included, mounted to the soffit or fascia.

Can you mount on vinyl, aluminum or wood soffits?

Yes. We use fasteners matched to the material, whether it’s wood, vinyl or aluminum, and land them in solid backing so the track stays straight and secure.

Do you drill into my roof or shingles?

No. The track fastens to the soffit (the underside of the eave) or the fascia board, with fasteners matched to the material and set into solid backing. Nothing goes through your shingles or roof panels, so your roof and its warranty are left alone.

Can you see permanent lights during the day?

Barely. The lights sit inside a slim aluminum track mounted under the eave, and the track is powder-coated to match your trim in matte black, white, oyster white or brown. From the street, most people don’t notice it until the lights come on.

How far apart are the lights?

About 12 inches apart along the track. From the street that reads as a clean, even line of light that follows your roofline, peaks included.

Will permanent lights hold up to Ohio and Michigan winters?

Yes. They’re built to stay outside all year. The LEDs are sealed in UV-stabilized polyurethane, every connection is a factory-sealed waterproof connector, and the system sits tucked under the eave. Toledo averages about 37 inches of snow a season, and your lights stay put through all of it.

How do they get power, and will my electric bill go up much?

The control box plugs into an exterior outlet, and everything from the box to the lights runs on low-voltage 24V DC. LEDs use very little electricity, so running them every evening adds little to a typical bill. If your home needs a new exterior outlet, that work is done by a licensed electrician.

Do I need HOA approval?

If you live in an HOA, check its rules before you book. We’re happy to send product photos and specs to include with your request, including the track color that matches your trim.
