Permanent Lights, Planned for Toledo Homes
Toledo has some of the most interesting rooflines in Ohio. The Old West End is often described as the largest neighborhood of late Victorian, Edwardian and Arts and Crafts homes east of the Mississippi, and neighborhoods like Westmoreland, Vistula and Harvard Terrace are full of steep gables and layered rooflines. Those details look incredible lit, and they’re exactly where careful planning matters.
Permanent lighting follows every one of those lines. Pre-built peak pieces matched to your roof pitch put a light dead center on each gable, and four independent zones let a bigger house run different colors on different faces. The track mounts under the eave and is powder-coated to match your trim, so in daylight it reads as part of the house.
Toledo holidays, minus the ladder
Toledo goes all in for the holidays. The Blade Holiday Parade kicks off the season downtown in mid-November, the city lights its tree at Promenade Park, and the Toledo Zoo’s Lights Before Christmas has been a tradition since 1986, with more than a million lights. In December, the Old West End opens decorated homes for its Tours de Noel.
Your house can join in without anyone climbing a ladder in November weather. Toledo’s first measurable snow usually lands around Thanksgiving week, which is exactly when most people are out hanging lights. With a permanent system, you open the app instead.

Hidden by day
A slim aluminum track tucked under the eave, powder-coated to match your trim. Most people never notice it until the lights come on.
Control it from your phone
A free app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with scenes, schedules and timers. Four independent zones let each side of the house do its own thing.
Perfect peaks
Pre-built peak pieces matched to your roof pitch put a light dead center at every apex, so both sides of each gable mirror each other.
Built for Toledo winters
LEDs sealed in UV-stabilized polyurethane and factory-sealed waterproof connectors. No splices on your roof for water to find.
Safe, low-voltage power
Plugs into an exterior outlet. From the control box out, everything runs on 24V DC, with a UL-certified power supply and built-in surge protection.

Questions from Toledo
Permanent Lighting FAQ for Toledo, OH
Do I need approval for permanent lights in the Old West End?
Possibly. The Old West End, Vistula and Westmoreland are city historic overlay districts, and exterior work that needs a building permit there requires a Certificate of Appropriateness first. Check with the City of Toledo before installing. We’re happy to provide product photos, specs and track color samples for your application.
Can you light an older home with lots of gables and dormers?
Yes, and that’s where a planned layout pays off. We map every run, peak and zone before anything goes up. Pre-built peak pieces come in four roof pitches, from low-slope 4/12 to steep 12/12, so each gable gets a light dead center at the apex.
How much do permanent lights cost?
Every home is priced on its own. The price depends on how many feet of roofline you want lit, how many peaks and stories the house has, and how many zones you want to control separately. We measure, plan the layout with you and give you a written quote, free. A lot of homeowners compare it with paying to have Christmas lights hung and taken down every year: permanent lights are a one-time install that works every night, for every holiday.
Can you see permanent lights during the day?
Barely. The lights sit inside a slim aluminum track mounted under the eave, and the track is powder-coated to match your trim in matte black, white, oyster white or brown. From the street, most people don’t notice it until the lights come on.
Will permanent lights hold up to Ohio and Michigan winters?
Yes. They’re built to stay outside all year. The LEDs are sealed in UV-stabilized polyurethane, every connection is a factory-sealed waterproof connector, and the system sits tucked under the eave. Toledo averages about 37 inches of snow a season, and your lights stay put through all of it.
How long does installation take?
Most homes take about a day. Larger homes with long rooflines, several peaks or a second story can take a second day. Before we leave, we test every zone with you and set up the app on your phone.
