Cost and quotes

How much do permanent lights cost?

Every home is priced on its own. The price depends on how many feet of roofline you want lit, how many peaks and stories the house has, and how many zones you want to control separately. We measure, plan the layout with you and give you a written quote, free. A lot of homeowners compare it with paying to have Christmas lights hung and taken down every year: permanent lights are a one-time install that works every night, for every holiday.

How does the free quote work?

Call, text or send the form. We’ll ask a few questions about your home, measure the roofline and show you where the lights and zones would go. You get a written quote, with no pressure to book.

When should I book if I want lights for Christmas?

As early as you can. Install dates before Thanksgiving go first, and Toledo’s first measurable snow usually shows up around Thanksgiving week. The good news: once your system is in, you never have to think about timing again.

What areas do you serve?

We install permanent lights across Greater Toledo and the Monroe County towns just over the Michigan line, including Toledo, Sylvania, Perrysburg, Maumee, Ottawa Hills, Holland, Waterville, Whitehouse, Monclova, Oregon, Rossford, Lambertville and Temperance. The lights

Can you see permanent lights during the day?

Barely. The lights sit inside a slim aluminum track mounted under the eave, and the track is powder-coated to match your trim in matte black, white, oyster white or brown. From the street, most people don’t notice it until the lights come on.

What colors and effects can they do?

Any color you want, plus a true warm white. Each light is RGBW: it has a dedicated warm-white LED alongside red, green and blue, so your everyday white looks like a real 2800K warm light instead of a tinted mix. Use the app’s scene presets for holidays and game days, or set your own colors and animations.

How far apart are the lights?

About 12 inches apart along the track. From the street that reads as a clean, even line of light that follows your roofline, peaks included.

How do I control the lights?

From a free app on your phone. The controller connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so you can change colors, pick a scene, or set schedules and timers. It has four independent zones, so the front of the house, the sides and the second story can each do something different.

What happens if my Wi-Fi goes down?

The controller also connects by Bluetooth, so you can still control the lights from your phone when you’re near the house.

Are permanent lights just for Christmas?

Not at all. Many homeowners run a soft warm white every evening for curb appeal, switch to orange for Halloween, red, white and blue for the Fourth of July, and team colors on game day. Christmas is just one of the scenes.

Installation

How long does installation take?

Most homes take about a day. Larger homes with long rooflines, several peaks or a second story can take a second day. Before we leave, we test every zone with you and set up the app on your phone.

Do you drill into my roof or shingles?

No. The track fastens to the soffit (the underside of the eave) or the fascia board, with fasteners matched to the material and set into solid backing. Nothing goes through your shingles or roof panels, so your roof and its warranty are left alone.

How do they get power, and will my electric bill go up much?

The control box plugs into an exterior outlet, and everything from the box to the lights runs on low-voltage 24V DC. LEDs use very little electricity, so running them every evening adds little to a typical bill. If your home needs a new exterior outlet, that work is done by a licensed electrician.

Do I need HOA approval?

If you live in an HOA, check its rules before you book. We’re happy to send product photos and specs to include with your request, including the track color that matches your trim.

Weather and warranty

Will permanent lights hold up to Ohio and Michigan winters?

Yes. They’re built to stay outside all year. The LEDs are sealed in UV-stabilized polyurethane, every connection is a factory-sealed waterproof connector, and the system sits tucked under the eave. Toledo averages about 37 inches of snow a season, and your lights stay put through all of it.

What’s the warranty?

Your lights are backed by a 5-year manufacturer warranty covering the LED strands, controller and power supply against defects. Normal weather wear isn’t a defect, so it isn’t covered.

What if a light stops working?

The light strands plug together in short sections with factory-sealed connectors, so a problem section can be swapped without rewiring the whole run. Defective parts are covered by the 5-year manufacturer warranty. Give us a call and we’ll take a look.
