Permanent lighting, explained
Holiday Lights That Stay Up, and Still Look Clean in July
Permanent LED lighting is a slim aluminum track installed under the edge of your roof, with full-color LED lights set about every 12 inches along it.
It stays up all year. In daylight, the track blends into your trim. At night, you choose what it does from an app on your phone: warm white for everyday curb appeal, red and green in December, orange in October, and your team’s colors on game day. No ladders, no tangled strands, no storage bins, and no paying someone to hang and remove lights every season.
- Professionally installed once, usually in about a day
- Full color plus a true 2800K warm white
- Schedules and timers, so it runs itself
One installation, every occasion

The lighting system
Built to Stay Up Through Northwest Ohio Winters
We install a professional-grade RGBW system designed for year-round outdoor use. Here’s what goes on your roofline.
Full color plus true warm white
Every light is RGBW: red, green and blue for any color, plus a dedicated warm-white LED for a real 2800K glow instead of a tinted mix.
Hidden by day
A slim aluminum track tucked under the eave, powder-coated to match your trim. Most people never notice it until the lights come on.
Control it from your phone
A free app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with scenes, schedules and timers. Four independent zones let each side of the house do its own thing.
Perfect peaks
Pre-built peak pieces matched to your roof pitch put a light dead center at every apex, so both sides of each gable mirror each other.
Built for Toledo winters
LEDs sealed in UV-stabilized polyurethane and factory-sealed waterproof connectors. No splices on your roof for water to find.
Safe, low-voltage power
Plugs into an exterior outlet. From the control box out, everything runs on 24V DC, with a UL-certified power supply and built-in surge protection.

Done Hanging Christmas Lights in the Cold?
- Climbing an icy ladder in November to hang lights
- Untangling strands and hunting for the one dead bulb
- Paying someone to hang lights, then paying again to take them down
- Clips that crack gutters and lift shingles every season
Toledo’s first measurable snow usually lands around Thanksgiving week, right when most people are up on a ladder. With permanent lights, the only thing you climb is the porch steps.

Day and night
You’ll Barely See It During the Day
It’s the first thing most people ask: what does it look like when the lights are off?
The track is powder-coated aluminum in a color picked to match your trim, mounted under the eave where the roofline already casts a shadow. From the street, it reads as part of the house. The close-up shows a finished gable in daylight.
- Four track colors: matte black, white, oyster white and brown
- Mounted to the soffit or fascia, so your shingles stay untouched
- Wiring tucked into the track, with no cords hanging off the gutter

Questions
Permanent Lighting FAQ
How much do permanent lights cost?
Every home is priced on its own. The price depends on how many feet of roofline you want lit, how many peaks and stories the house has, and how many zones you want to control separately. We measure, plan the layout with you and give you a written quote, free. A lot of homeowners compare it with paying to have Christmas lights hung and taken down every year: permanent lights are a one-time install that works every night, for every holiday.
Can you see permanent lights during the day?
Barely. The lights sit inside a slim aluminum track mounted under the eave, and the track is powder-coated to match your trim in matte black, white, oyster white or brown. From the street, most people don’t notice it until the lights come on.
Do you drill into my roof or shingles?
No. The track fastens to the soffit (the underside of the eave) or the fascia board, with fasteners matched to the material and set into solid backing. Nothing goes through your shingles or roof panels, so your roof and its warranty are left alone.
Will permanent lights hold up to Ohio and Michigan winters?
Yes. They’re built to stay outside all year. The LEDs are sealed in UV-stabilized polyurethane, every connection is a factory-sealed waterproof connector, and the system sits tucked under the eave. Toledo averages about 37 inches of snow a season, and your lights stay put through all of it.
How do I control the lights?
From a free app on your phone. The controller connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so you can change colors, pick a scene, or set schedules and timers. It has four independent zones, so the front of the house, the sides and the second story can each do something different.
How long does installation take?
Most homes take about a day. Larger homes with long rooflines, several peaks or a second story can take a second day. Before we leave, we test every zone with you and set up the app on your phone.
What’s the warranty?
Your installation comes with a 10-year warranty backed by Lenawee Lighting. Your written quote and agreement document the coverage and terms.
Are permanent lights just for Christmas?
Not at all. Many homeowners run a soft warm white every evening for curb appeal, switch to orange for Halloween, red, white and blue for the Fourth of July, and team colors on game day. Christmas is just one of the scenes.
